the truth

Jana has been making me feel guilty. Apparently taking credit for catching fish..you never actually..technically caught is wrong. So I guess I can give you the reel store.
The halibut in question was caught yesterday. It weighed in at 312lbs. It came in with little fight. When they harpooned it..they severed the spinal cord and paralazed it. It still took a couple guys to pull it in the boat. It was caught on the Belle Isle..a local Oona River boat by local Oona River residence. The biggest fish most have ever seen. They also caught a 92lbs the same time. The day before they caught a 35 and 40lbs. So they have been doing quite well. They caught them in a nearby local spot called the 'deep freezee' I imagine this will entince a few more people out to do some fishing. I know Ben quickly ran to Prince Rupert and bought all brand new halibut fishing gear:) The fish was truly impressive..just the size of the head and eyeballs alone.

  3. What a fish... HUGE!, that would be incredible to actually catch. Do you remeber how big the Halibut was in Hyder Alaska that we had pictures of. It was over 300lbs too I think. Mom, maybe you could find that out.
