floatplane day!!

Well..we woke up excited today. Finally gonna be flying. Liam will finally get to see the plane we have been telling him about for weeks. I spent the morning heaping more plywood on the old yellow pickup. And making it more than ready for the barge. It took a few hours to pick-up our groceries and all the little odds and ends we didn't want to forget. I had told Inland Air that I would have about 800 pounds of gear to fly with us. The finally weigh in was 809. Not bad for guessing weeks before. The problem was we didn't have enough room. Jana did a great job boxing everything. With out that we never would have gotten as much on the plane. As it was we had to leave only two boxes behind. I was amazed those plane can hold so much. When we took off Liam eyes kept getting bigger and bigger..he grinned the whole way there..even through the few seconds of turbolance. We just beat the snowstorm into Oona..the pilot was contimplating turning around..sure glad he didn't. Ben and shannon were there to meet us. Ben had brought onto the dock one cart to help with gear..but when he saw plane land...he told Shannon..better get another cart (apperantly when the pontoons are sinking it is fully loaded) turns out we need 4 cart. Absolutely everything we brought was essential. Anyone with 2 little kids will agree with us.

  1. You guys are amazing. What you are doing is a very big undertaking with two little kids, and you are smiling the whole way! We are very happy to have you here and can't wait to see the progress. You will probably beat us, moving into your huis before we move into ours! And I was sooo happy to see someone else with as much stuff as we always end up packing anywhere we go. Welcome to Oona!
